The Cataloging Librarian is responsible for original and descriptive cataloging and assigning classification numbers to library materials. The Cataloging Librarian is also responsible for establishing and maintaining cataloging and metadata standards according to library industry standards.
The candidate must be a self-starter, with proven communication skills, quality-and detail-oriented, with the ability to organize and prioritize the workload. Candidate must also have: 2-years of original cataloging experience with knowledge of RDA, MARCEdit, OCLC Connexion; and advanced knowledge of library of Congress cataloging rules, standards and practices; excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word). Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees; ability to coordinate projects; ability to attend library related conferences.
37.5 hours/week; full-time. Some evening and weekends required.
