And please take advantage of all these fantastic services we offer – they're here for you to use!   1. Even though our doors are closed, you can still check out books, movies and other items. Use the Drive-Up Window at our Central Library or Curbside Pick-Up at our branches. You can even get your items 24/7 with our new Pick-Up Lockers at our Central Library.

  2. Get free wifi from our parking lots. No login or password needed, just bring your device, sit in your car and tap into our wifi from any of our three locations.

  3. Sign up for or renew your Library card online. Sign up for a Library card online and get immediate access to our amazing eLibrary of books, movies, research tools and more. You can also renew your Library card online with a simple form.

  4. We’re fine free! No need to worry about overdue items because we’re no longer charging late fines.

  5. Our eLibrary is open 24/7. With more than 300,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks, plus streaming movies, music and TV shows, our eLibrary really does have something for everyone.

  6. We offer more than 100 online programs each month. Stay safe at home while you enjoy our online programs. Storytimes, book discussions, crafting, history, business, genealogy, literacy... we have it all. 

  7. Head to to watch our online programs on demand. No need to register, our YouTube channel lets you watch many of our online programs on your schedule. 

  8. Check out some tech. Hotspots, VHS transfer equipment, Kill-a-Watt meters and much more, all available for you to check out and use at home.

  9. Flip through a digital magazine or newspaper for free. We have more than 5,000 digital newspapers and magazines for you to browse – no subscription needed. 

  10. Craft kits will keep little hands busy. Check our Events page for Pick-Up Programs to register to pick up craft kits that you can complete at home.

  11. Let the Library come to you with home delivery. See if you qualify for our home delivery service where we’ll bring books, movies and more right to your door.

  12. Print from home with our wireless printing. Send your print job to the Library from home and we’ll have it ready for you to pick up.

  13. Get free homework help. Use your Schaumburg Library card to sign in to Brainfuse HelpNow for free, live homework help available daily.

  14. Get personalized, digital reading recommendations. Not sure what to read next? Complete our Media Match form and we’ll suggest a few eBooks or streaming movies we think you’ll enjoy.

  15. Our Reference chat line is available 24/7. Let us help you find what you need, day or night. Just click the bright green box at the bottom of every page of our website.

  16. Learn a new skill online for free. From quick tutorial videos to six-week courses, our online learning offers options for kids and adults to learn new skills in tech, business, writing, languages, crafting and much more.

  17. Our new self-checks are all the rage! Once our buildings reopen, give our new self-checks a try to maintain social distancing while quickly and easily checking out your own items.

  18. Book Club in a Bag offers more than 100 titles for your book club. Start your own book club without having to pay for all the books using our Book Club in a Bag.

  19. Check out our Local History and Genealogy blogs. Our dedicated local history librarian and genealogist each write fantastic blogs for our website. Dive deep into Schaumburg Township history, or into your own family history!

  20. Binge the day away with Binge Boxes. Check out up to 6 movies all at once, all on a theme with Binge Boxes. Topics range from American Patriotism to Academy Award Winners to Black Experiences to Disney Warrior Princesses.

  21. Join us for our One Book, One Community as we read Room. One Book, One Community is a time for us to come together as we all read the same book and discuss its themes. This year’s selection couldn’t be more relevant to current issues we all face. And don’t miss our virtual visit from Room author Emma Donoghue on Feb. 18.
