On the evening of Thursday, March 19, we learned that a member of our community who was in our Central Library building on Thursday, March 12 has since tested positive for COVID-19.
In line with guidance from public health officials, this individual is self-isolating at home and is feeling fine at this time. Please join us in wishing them a safe and speedy recovery.
As a precaution, we have notified all Schaumburg Library staff members. We have urged any staff member who is not feeling well to self-isolate, and we will continue to encourage this preventative measure.
All Schaumburg Library facilities have been closed to the public since 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13. Before closing, we were engaged in an increased cleaning regimen to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We plan to undertake a deep clean of all Library facilities prior to reopening.
The health and well-being of our community and Library staff are our top priority. We continue to monitor guidance and guidelines issued by public health officials as we consider the best ways to responsibly serve our community.
