Juneteenth is a nationally recognized holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating Black freedom, history, and culture. Join us throughout the month for a variety of programs for all ages that honor this important milestone, uplift Black voices, and encourage reflection and learning. Plus, explore curated booklists for kids, tweens, teens, and adults selected by library staff.

Pop-Up Program: Juneteenth Color by Number

Celebrate Juneteenth by dropping by any of our library locations to color by number with multiple coloring sheets.
Juneteenth in the Burbs Block Party
Saturday, June 20 • 1-6 p.m. • Harper College: Kenneth and Catherine Ender Pavilion
Join us for a community celebration of Juneteenth. Enjoy an afternoon of music, speakers, crafts, family activities, and more. This program is a partnership between the Library, Schaumburg Township, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and iCU Community.
