Simple Hand Sewing: Pekinese Stitch

Want to build your sewing skills? Each month, learn and practice a different hand sewing technique. This month, learn the Pekinese stitch, commonly found in Chinese embroideries and used to make outlines.

Teen Studio: Sashiko Stitchwork

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique used to decorate, repair, and reinforce fabric. Experiment with sashiko to design your own pencil bag.

Forest Bathing Walk

Friday, May 29 • 10-11 a.m. • Schaumburg Sculpture Park

Led by certified Horticultural Therapist, Navraaz Kaur Basati, the walk is themed around the writings of scientist and activist David Suzuki. The experience ends with a calming tea ceremony.
