Renewals

Don't worry about forgetting to renew your items on time — because we've already taken care of it! We have auto-renewal, meaning we'll automatically renew eligible items for you (up to four times!).

If an item is not eligible for auto-renew (such as when another patron has placed a hold on it), you'll receive a courtesy email reminding you on the due date. Not sure if it's renewable? Check out the chart below or call (847) 923-3160.

Fees

After an item is 45 days overdue, your card will be blocked and you can no longer check out items. You’ll also be billed the replacement cost of the item. Once you return the item, your card will be unblocked and the bill removed as long as it is returned within six months of being billed. If your total bills exceed $100 and they are not paid within 45 days, the Library may refer your account to an external material recovery agency and charge you a nonrefundable fee of $10. The Library does not issue refunds to items that are paid for and found later.

Lost or Damaged Materials

You are responsible for the materials you borrow. A replacement cost will be charged if an item is lost or badly damaged. We cannot accept a replacement copy in lieu of payment.
