Are you a teacher in School District 54? Sign up for a Resource Bag of supplemental reading material for students in preschool through 8th grade.

We'll send you a bag of 20 books personally selected by our librarians based on grade and reading level. Resource Bags are delivered to your school office once a month from September to April. You can sign up at any time during the school year!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get books with specific titles or themes?

Yes, but these are considered "special request" books and handled on a case-by-case basis. Please send an email to School Services and Community Engagement Librarian Samantha Eichelberger at @email at least two weeks in advance.

Can I get books in languages other than English?

Sure! We have books in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Hindi, Gujarati and Ukrainian. The number of books in your chosen language included in your bag may vary from week to week depending on availability.

When are Resource Bags delivered?

We send Resource Bags to your school once a month on Wednesdays from September to May.

When/how do I return a Resource Bag?

Resource Bags are checked out for three weeks. You will get a due date slip in your bag to remind you when your Resource Bag is due. When it's time to return it, place the books back in the bag and leave it at your school office for pick up by the District 54 van.

We don't need exact Fountas & Pinnell levels; the grade level at which the majority of students is reading is fine. For example: reading at grades 1-3.
