Starting Sunday, September 13
The Central Library Opens at 10 a.m.
Beginning Sunday, Sept. 13, Schaumburg Township District Library’s Central Library will open at 10 a.m. on Sundays, giving patrons more time to visit the Library on weekends. Increasing Sunday hours is part of the Library’s commitment to providing flexibility and access to support the growth and diversity of residents and businesses in Schaumburg.
In June, we asked patrons for feedback in a survey about whether opening earlier on Sundays would be beneficial. With over 2500 responses representing diverse opinions, we are grateful that our community took the time to share their thoughts.
- This would be so helpful in my kids' school life.
- I like to get my errands done in the morning so earlier hours on Sundays would be great for me.
- We prefer the earlier hours and usually get here as soon as they open on Sundays.
Based on a majority of favorable responses, the Board of Library Trustees has agreed to a six-month pilot to open the Central Library at 10 a.m. After this time, we will evaluate the overall impact before making a permanent change.
Free Printing from Sept 13 through 19
To celebrate our expanded hours and show appreciation for our patrons, we are offering a week of free printing and copying. This offer includes black-and-white and color prints at any of our Library locations.
Exception: this does not include printing from the Innovation Hub equipment.
