And please take advantage of all these fantastic services we offer – they're here for you to use! Be sure to read all the way to the end for a reminder about three best-selling authors who will be paying us visits soon.

We now have Pick-Up Lockers at all Library locations.You can get your items 24/7 with our Pick-Up Lockers at our Central Library as well as the newly-added ones at the Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park branches. This is more than a year in the making as we ordered the branch lockers back in October 2020.

  2. We're fine free! No need to worry about overdue items because we're no longer charging late fines.

  3. Get free wifi from our parking lots and throughout Town Square. No login or password needed, just bring your device and tap into our wifi from any of our three locations.

  4. Check out some tech. Hotspots, VHS transfer equipment, laptop kits, Rokus, Nintendo Switch Lites and much more ... all available for you to check out and use at home.

  5. Our eLibrary is open 24/7. With more than 300,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks, plus streaming movies, music and TV shows, our eLibrary really does have something for everyone.

  6. We offer more than 100 online programs each month — with in-person and online options. Come to the Library or stay safe at home while you enjoy our programs. Storytimes, book discussions, crafting, history, business, literacy ... we have it all. 

  7. Head to to watch our online programs on demand. No need to register, our YouTube channel lets you watch many of our online programs on your schedule. 

  8. Make your next outing more affordable. Check out Museum Adventure Pass for discounts to wonderful area attractions like the Brookfield Zoo.

  9. Craft kits will keep little hands busy. Check our Events page for Pick-Up Programs to register to pick up craft kits that you can complete at home.

  10. Let the Library come to you with home delivery. See if you qualify for our home delivery service where we’ll bring books, movies and more right to your door.

  11. Print from home with our wireless printing. Send your print job to the Library from home and we’ll have it ready for you to pick up.

  12. Get free homework help. Use your Schaumburg Library card to sign in to Brainfuse HelpNow for free, live homework help available daily.

  13. Get personalized recommendations with a Library Box. We've jumped on the subscription box bandwagon! Let us know what you like to read and we'll hand-pick a book just for you. (Plus, we'll throw in some fun goodies for you to keep.) Available for all ages – adults, teens and kids.

  14. Or, get personalized digital recommendations. Not sure what to read next? Complete our Media Match form and we'll suggest a few eBooks or streaming movies that we think you'll enjoy.

  15. Our Reference chat line is available 24/7. Let us help you find what you need, day or night. Just click the bright green box at the bottom of any page of our website.

  16. Learn a new skill online for free. From quick tutorial videos to six-week courses, our online learning offers options for kids and adults to learn new skills in tech, business, writing, languages, crafting and much more.

  17. Check out items yourself with our Self-Checks. Our self-checks allow you to maintain social distancing while quickly and easily checking out your own items. Find them at all Library locations, including on the second floor and in the Youth room at our Central Library.

  18. Book Club in a Bag offers more than 100 titles for your book club. Start your own book club without having to pay for all the books using our Book Club in a Bag.

  19. Enjoy a short story from our Story Cube. Just give this special little box a wave and it will print out a short story, just for you. Watch for it to pop up at our Library locations and throughout the community.

  20. Binge the day away with Binge Boxes. Check out up to 6 movies all at once, all on a theme, with Binge Boxes. Topics range from American Patriotism to Academy Award Winners to Black Experiences to Disney Warrior Princesses.

  21. Join us for our big initiatives throughout the year. Enjoy events like Comic Con, our celebration of all things comics and pop culture, or our One Book, One Community read where we come together to read the same book and have meaningful conversations.

  22. Enjoy virtual visits from best-selling authors. We're proud to be a founding member of Illinois Libraries Present. That means we're partnering with libraries from across the state to bring you amazing programs that we wouldn't be able to do on our own.
