Get ready for 2024 with 24 ways to use your Library! We really do offer a little something for everyone, so we hope you'll take advantage of all these fantastic services we offer.

  1. We're fine free! No need to worry about overdue items because we're no longer charging late fines.

  2. Take a look around before your visit. Our virtual tours and social story allow you to prepare before you come to our Library, so you and your family know just what to expect.

  3. Try the Pick-Up Lockers at any of our Library locations. You can get your items 24/7 with our Pick-Up Lockers available at all three of our locations. Super convenient for those times when your schedule just doesn't fit with ours.

  4. Get free wifi from our parking lots and throughout Town Square. No login or password needed, just bring your device and tap into our wifi from any of our three locations. We average more than 25,000 free wifi sessions per month!

  5. Browse our Library of Things. Tech things, toy things, game things ... so many things! Find everything from umbrellas to digital cameras to puzzles in our Library of Things.

  6. Try our new Study Rooms. With the renovation of the 2nd floor of our Central Library, we recently opened our new Study Rooms. Give them a try the next time you need a space to study, read or work.

  7. Make your next outing more affordable. Check out Museum Adventure Pass for discounts to wonderful area attractions like the Brookfield Zoo.

  8. Our eLibrary is open 24/7. With more than 300,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks, plus streaming movies, music and TV shows, our eLibrary really does have something for everyone.

  9. Text us! Have a question? You can now call, email, chat (use the green box in the lower right corner of our website) or text us.

  10. We offer more than 100 online programs each month — with in-person and online options. Come to the Library or watch our programs from your couch. Storytimes, book discussions, crafting, history, business, literacy ... we have it all

  11. Head to YouTube to watch our online programs on demand. No need to register — our YouTube channel lets you watch many of our online programs on your schedule.

  12. Full online access to world-class news. Your Schaumburg Library card now gives you free, full, online access to the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal.

  13. Sport some Library gear. Show your support of Schaumburg Library with shirts, hoodies, mugs and more — available in our online shop.

  14. Have a sensory-friendly experience. All our locations now have sensory kits available for you to use when you visit us. Each kit incudes headphones, a weighted lap pad, fidgets and emotion cards to help keep our spaces inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

  15. #ReadWithUs with our One Book, One Community. Join together with your family, friends and neighbors and celebrate the joy of reading. This year, we're reading Happiness Falls by Angie Kim (and books with similar themes for young readers). This exciting, annual initiative will culminate with a visit from Ms. Kim at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024.

  16. Let the Library come to you with home delivery. See if you qualify for our home delivery service where we’ll bring books, movies and more right to your door.

  17. Print from home with our wireless printing. Send your print job to the Library from home and we’ll have it ready for you to pick up.

  18. Get free homework help. Use your Schaumburg Library card to sign in to Brainfuse HelpNow for free, live homework help available daily.

  19. Get personalized recommendations with a Library Box. We've jumped on the subscription box bandwagon! Let us know what you like to read and we'll hand-pick a book just for you. (Plus, we'll throw in some fun goodies for you to keep.) Available for all ages.

  20. Speak in your native language. Thanks to LanguageLine, we now have access to on-demand translators for more than 240 languages, so we can assist you in your native language. This service is available at all public desks at all our locations, and we hope it helps you feel welcome at our Library.

  21. Learn a new skill online for free. From quick tutorial videos to six-week courses, our online learning offers options for kids and adults to learn new skills in tech, business, writing, languages, crafting and much more.

  22. Check out items yourself with our Self-Checks. Who doesn't like that satisfying "beep" of checkout an item? Our self-checks allow you quickly and easily check out your own items. Find them at all Library locations, including on the second floor and in the Youth room at our Central Library.

  23. Book Club in a Bag offers more than 100 titles for your book club. Start your own book club without having to pay for all the books using our Book Club in a Bag.

  24. Innovate! When the renovation of the 2nd floor of our Central Library wraps up in spring 2024, we're excited to unveil our new Innovation Hub — an amazing space for individuals, groups and small businesses to collaborate, discover, learn and create as you explore different kinds of technology and equipment.
